Four sheep have been killed after a dog attacked a flock at Langness.
It was the second such incident in the area in the past fortnight.
The sheep were attacked in a fenced compound, which is popular with dog walkers, sometime between 5pm on Tuesday and 8am yesterday.
One sheep was killed instantly while the others suffered serious injuries and had to be destroyed.
Police are appealing for information and say the dog or dogs involved would have been heavily bloodstained which would have been obvious to the owner.
