Last night's extra return sailing to Heysham has cleared some of the freight backlog, and brought in essential Christmas perishables ahead of the big day.
It's been a stressful time for members of the public awaiting gift deliveries and businesses over the past few days, particularly those selling fresh produce.
A number of sailings have been cancelled because of gales in the Irish Sea.
