Middle MHK standing down
Middle MHK Bill Shimmins has confirmed he won't be seeking re-election at September's General Election.
He says whilst it has been a 'great pleasure' to represent his constituents his priority is to spend more time 'assisting' his family.
Mr Shimmins was first elected to the House of Keys in 2016.
He says whilst he has not achieved all of his objectives he hopes he's made a 'positive contribution'.
His announcement means neither of the sitting MHKs for Middle – Mr Shimmins and Howard Quayle – will attempt to retain their seats on 23 September.
