Officers shut the high street shortly after 4pm
Police have thanked members of the public and shop staff for their assistance after dealing with a medical emergency on Strand Street this afternoon.
Officers closed the Douglas high street at around 4pm whilst ambulance crews attended to the patient.
In a statement, the constabulary says: "We would just like to express our sincere regards to members of the public and shop staff who helped us. Without you all we would have struggled controlling the building crowds and getting the ambulances in. Thankyou."
