DoI unveils tram plans to save £750,000
An Island volunteer group says the Douglas horse trams should operate the whole length of the promenade.
Stuart Mullan from Friends of Douglas Tramway says the heritage value of the service would be compromised if there's a change to the route.
He accepts a cost-effective and long-term solution to the redevelopment of the promenade needs to be found, but he's keen to reaffirm the group's position.
The Department of Infrastructure has unveiled proposals to cut short the service to between Broadway and Summerhill - saving £750,000.
Mr Mullan says having the full historical route is big draw for tourists.
