Should Island have a living wage?
West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas says the Manx government should seriously consider wage levels – after the UK promised a living wage for over-25s last week.
The Conservative government says it’ll set the rate at £7.20 an hour outside London taking into account data from organisations such as the Living Wage Foundation.
Mr Thomas says in the past, the government’s said it doesn’t have enough information to be able to set a figure.
He says he’d like to see that change – even if the calculation is a complex one:
