Victim Support sees increase of referrals and contacts
A charity helping victims of domestic abuse on the Isle of Man says it's seen a 'significant' increase in reports since lockdown ended.
Victim Support has had 85 referrals and 628 contacts between May & July, relating to both sexual violence and domestic abuse.
That's up from 58 and 490, when compared to the same time last year.
The charity took to Twitter to share the recent statistics.
On 15 June @IOMGovernment announced the end to social distancing, a day of real change for the Manx community. For those suffering during lockdown from domestic abuse/domestic violence it was also a significant day as it enabled many to seek the support & help they needed. (1/2)
