Man who sparked focus on rights of way ‘disappointed but not surprised’ over time it’s taking
A campaigner says he would like to see a single agency dedicated to working on footpaths as opposed to the Department of Infrastructure as it's 'responsible for a load of disasters'.
That’s the view of David ‘Butch’ Buttery – in 2021 he handed over a petition to Tynwald calling for an investigation into maintenance of public rights of way.
A committee was subsequently set up which instructed the DoI to update the Island's definitive map - something Minister Chris Thomas says would take decades.
