A winner of last year's TT XGP has declared he's to stand as a candidate in the Douglas East by-election.
Chris Heath, who won the clean emissions event Open Class, is the sixth person to enter the race to succeed Phil Braidwood.
Mr Heath says he would make tackling crime, drugs, and the regeneration of Douglas his priorities in the constituency.
He lists his key issues on the broader political front as the Reciprocal Health Agreement, unemployment and the economy.
Mr Heath, who has worked in the public and private sectors and run businesses in the Isle of Man and the United Kingdom, says he will campaign on 'common sense policies that reflect the views of the majority'.
The seat has been made vacant by the election of Mr Braidwood to the Legislative Council.
The other five candidates are Kate Beecroft, Chris Robertshaw, Colin Cain, John Joughin and Kevin Woodford.
Nominations close a week today, on April 27, and the by-election itself will be on May 27.
