MUA estimates cost of £18.5 million
The introduction of smart meters for services provided by the MUA on the Island will cost around £18.5 million.
The figure was given in the House of Keys this morning (Tues 12) in response to a question from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper.
Chairman of the MUA, Dr Alex Allinson, says the authority believes smart metering could play a vital part in empowering consumers to help reduce bills and choose more environmentally suitable ways to heat their homes.
