DoI dispatching gritter in bid to alleviate issues for drivers
A gritter is being sent to the Mountain Road as snow and sleet is affecting driving conditions on the route this morning.
The police have assessed the area and determined it's not bad enough to close the road at the moment, but are urging motorists to drive with extra care, or consider using an alternative route.
The Department of Infrastructure will be dispatching a gritter to the mountain to alleviate issues for commuters.
However, the Beinney Phott Road from its junction with Brandywell Cottage up to the Mountain Road has been closed as a result of the conditions.
