Commissioners Chairman says responsibility should stay with central government
The chairman of Braddan Commissioners believes local authorities have enough of a say in setting social housing costs - but ultimate responsibility should stay with central government.
Andrew Jessop disagrees with comments made by Onchan MHK Rob Callister, that councillors and commissioners' views are 'ignored' by central government during rent adjustments.
A review of the current arrangement is set for next April.
Mr Jessop told Manx Radio giving local authorities freedom to set their own rates would create disparity.
