Douglas Councillor Cat Turner spoke at event
Improving the provision of social services on the Island requires more than political will alone.
That was the message from a public meeting in Douglas last night, ahead of a major report being debated in Tynwald next month.
The Social Affairs Policy Review Committee recommends that welfare agency staff are better trained, more open to criticism, and overall more inclined to 'keep families together'.
Douglas Councillor Cat Turner, who herself has had personal experience with social services, was one of those to speak at the event:

Further delay to TT schedule due to 'non-racing operational matter'
Crash which closed the Mountain Road ahead of racing 'not too serious'
TT campers in 'high spirits' despite rain affecting race week
