A Scottish journalist says he doubts if the inquest into the sinking of the Solway Harvester will ever conclude.
It’s eight years tomorrow (Friday) since the fishing vessel sank 11 miles off the Island, killing all seven crew on board.
But the families of the crew are still waiting for death certificates for their loved ones due to the delay of the inquest into the sinking.
It was adjourned a year ago when vessel owner, south-west
Scotland businessman Richard Gidney, refused to attend on the grounds it may prejudice any civil action against him.
The Scottish High Court is now considering an application from the Manx authorities which would force Mr Gidney to give evidence.
