Solway Harvester: RNLI crews to pay tribute at sea

Members will lay the floral arrangement at sea in view of the memorial on Douglas Head

Royal National Lifeboat Institution crews from Douglas and Ramsey will lay a wreath in remembrance of seven Scottish sailors who lost their lives at sea 25 years ago.

At 10am today (12 January) the members will lay the floral arrangement at sea in view of the memorial on Douglas Head.

On 11 January 2000 the Solway Harvester sank off the Isle of Man while heading for shelter in Ramsey Bay during heavy storms.

Chief Minister Alfred Cannan will also place a floral tribute to the crewmen at the Solway Harvester memorial later today.
