Southern 100 anniversary to be marked this year

Past champions will help celebrate its 70th

The 70th anniversary of the Southern 100 will be marked at this year's event.

Among other things, 18 past champions, some dating back to the 1960s will be there, with parade laps and talk shows in the fan zone in Castletown Square.

For the first time, the races will also be live screened on Wednesday, 9 July and Thursday, 10 July.

Southern 100 club member Boris Kitching says there will be some well-known names to look out for:

Roads will close for the first practice session around the Billown course on Monday at 6pm.
