Centre remains closed until engineer's report completed
The Southern Recycling Centre in Port St Mary is now accepting commercial waste.
There were concerns that large business vehicles turning in the yard made the site on Castletown Road unsafe, but these fears were allayed after the centre's layout was restructured earlier this year.
The popular reuse area remains closed, however, whilst the managing board of the centre wait for an engineer's report to be completed.
It's understood the building's structure is damaged, but the board have committed to reopen the facility once it's been made safe for users.
