A southern school is hoping to spread some festive cheer to elderly people this Christmas.
Pupils and staff at the Buchan are working with the Southern Befrienders charity to collect food for those who may find themselves alone on and around December 25.
Teacher and project coordinator Ann Cottier says the aim is to promote the school's "caring and sharing ethos".
So far 24 hampers have been made thanks to donations from parents and friends, and they will be distributed to people on the Southern Befrinders' database.
Anyone who knows someone who would benefit from the scheme is asked to call 468053.
