Prizes from HBN Library to children who read six books
The Henry Bloom Noble Library is using the 50th anniversary of the lunar landings to try and get more children reading books.
The Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge aims to get kids aged four to 11 to read six books over the summer holidays.
It's free to take part in and gets underway on Sat 13 July.
Those wishing to join in can sign up at the HBN Library in Douglas.
Jan Macartney says the scheme originated 20 years ago, after research showed literacy levels dropping off from the end of school year to the start of the following one.
She says there are prizes to be won for those taking part:
