The man behind a rival to the Steam Packet Company says he’s convinced the market could support another ferry service.
Captain Kurt Buchholz hopes the Ellan Vannin Line will succeed where other companies have historically failed when it comes to competing with the Steam Packet.
He says in the past, companies have used large vessels which haven’t attracted enough cargo to be viable when they first started.
But Captain Buchholz says that’s not what his firm will do:

Man treated for non-life threatening injuries following Ramsey incident
Consultation open on plans to formally recognise the heritage of Douglas Head
Police dealing with 'serious incident' in Ramsey
Drop-in session to support Isle of Man charities
