Reserve power being used to minimise delay for Heysham passengers
The Steam Packet Company has apologised to passengers after a broken down coach resulted in this morning's Heysham departure being delayed by more than an hour.
The stricken vehicle blocked the linkspan, meaning the ferry operator was unable to load the Manxman while it was berthed at the King Edward pier for her 8.15am departure.
After moving her to the Victoria pier, the Manxman departed just after 9.15am, and the Steam Packet says it will be using her reserve power to try to make up as much time as possible.
The vessel is expected into the Lancashire port at 12.45pm, with a departure back to Douglas scheduled for 2.15pm.
