Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan says it's difficult to praise or criticise the Manx government over its use of consultants, after receiving a detailed written answer to Tynwald question.
He asked for details of all consultants currently working for the government and statutory bodies, and was given a 24-page list showing around £11.5 million of spending.
Mr Rodan says the chief minister's answer has provided plenty of raw data, but it will take some work to sift through and analyse it properly.
He says it's almost impossible to tell whether the government is spending its cash wisely when it comes to consultants:
