Volunteer officers needed for varied role
New recruits are being sought for the Isle of Man Special Constabulary.
The volunteer officers carry out a wide range of policing duties, including patrolling with the neighbourhood policing teams and helping at major events and incidents.
There are currently 40 special constables on the Island, who volunteered over 8,000 hours in 2018.
Some special constables go on to become full-time police officers, as Special Superintendent Ian Horsey explains.
Two recruitment information events are being held at the TT Grandstand press centre on January 29th and 31st, starting at 7pm.
