Reducing speed is just one way to make the Island's roads safer.
That's according to the Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Home Affairs.
Derestricted roads are to be assessed on a case-by-case basis as part of the Island's road safety strategy, which was approved last year.
But Dan Davies insists there are a number of factors that need to be considered:
