Man to set sail on beer can boat
An ex-alcoholic building a boat out of his empty beer cans will sail it across the channel to raise awareness of the condition, and needs your help to do it.
Jimmy Whittle once drank up to four bottles of vodka in a 24-hour stint - he quit in March, and now he's on a journey of 'self-rescue'.
He says alcoholism is a social issue in need of addressing on the Isle of Man -insisting the health service is 'under-funded', 'under-resourced', and 'under duress'.
Jimmy wants to give something back to people who helped him out of deep water, by doing something 'off the wall' to promote responsible drinking.
D-A-M Productions producer and director Dave Armstrong says they need sponsorship help to document his experience, and drive the point home:
You can donate to the project at the 'jimmycan' JustGiving page, or by contacting Dave Armstrong by e-mail on dave@anotherdam.com
