Snow has closed the Mountain Road this morning (Mon 02) after conditions got worse on the high ground with snowfall leading to significant accumulations and more expected for several hours. (8.30am)
Police say the route will probably remain closed for much of the day, but the situation will be reviewed periodically, as conditions are forecast to improve slightly this afternoon.
On lower ground, heavy rain overnight has already led to standing water in many areas with more rain expected during the day.
High winds are expected to lead to coastal overtopping and some debris coming ashore in Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey at high tide, which is at 1.35pm.
The poor weather has led to both the horse tram service and Snaefell Mountain Railway being suspended for today (Mon 02). IOM Transport has apologized for any inconvenience.
