
A member of the House of Keys who yesterday (Tuesday) called for Ramsey's Queen's Pier to be demolished says it gave him no pleasure to do so.
Rushen member Juan Watterson made the suggestion during Tynwald's debate on a report into the future options for the Victorian structure.
Members voted to spend up to £1.8 million to stabilise the pier and prevent it from falling into the sea.
However, Mr Watterson says he isn't sure that's the best use of public money during tough economic times:
