Owners of Staffordshire bull terriers in the Isle of Man want to see the reputation of the breed improved.
At the weekend there was a meeting of owners to discuss what could be done to give them a better image.
Staffies are sometimes branded "yob dogs", despite the fact that the UK Kennel Club says it's one of only two breeds from over 190 that it recommends as suitable with children.
It's thought their physical similarities with banned breeds has led to them being tarnished as dangerous.
But Staffie owner Jo Hetherington says that perception couldn't be further from the truth, and believes the fault lies with irresponsible owners.
