Tonight's new moon makes for ideal stargazing conditions
You don't need to know what you're looking at to be able to enjoy stargazing.
That's from a Manx astronomer who's encouraging those interested in the night sky to take part in Dark Skies Week.
The Island has 26 designated dark skies sites which have been identified as the ideal places for stargazing.
Howard Parkin says tonight (20 April), with the new moon, is the ideal time to look to the skies but it doesn't matter if you can't identify the stars you can see:
