Floral and written tributes to comic legend Sir Norman Wisdom have been placed on his statue outside a bar named in his honour.
Bouquets are being left on the bench outside Sir Norman's at the Sefton Hotel, after he passed away peacefully at a nursing home in Ballasalla yesterday (Monday), aged 95.
His contribution to post-war comedy and unique style, which led him to become an icon both at home and abroad, have been widely praised.
In this excerpt from an interview with Manx Radio, he spoke of his bleak childhood, and how he left school at 14 determined to make his way in the world, but with no clear idea what he was going to do:
