Some missed Manannan crossing due to Liverpool traffic
The Steam Packet Company says passengers were contacted where possible to warn them of road closures around the Liverpool terminal ahead of yesterday's Manannan sailing.
A number of passengers missed the final fastcraft crossing of the year due to closures for a fireworks display taking place on the Mersey.
Some took to the ferry operator's Facebook page to complain they weren't notified about the traffic issues, but the Steam Packet insists texts and emails were sent in advance to those who provided mobile or email details when booking.
The company kept check-in open until five minutes before the sailing to allow as many passengers as possible to make it, but some were too late.
In a statement, the Steam Packet says one of the reasons it asks customers to provide contact details is so that updates like this can be passed on.
