The Ben-my-Chree has left for Heysham this evening (Sunday) but there’s no guarantee she will arrive there.
The Steam Packet is warning the vessel might not be able to dock at the port so the crossing might have to turn back.
Passengers booked to travel were asked to bear that in mind before travelling.
If the Ben-my-Chree can't dock, it means the 2.15am crossing will be cancelled.
The company is also warning of disruption to tomorrow's sailings.
An update about the 8.45am sailing to Heysham and its 2.15pm return will be made at around 7am.
The Ben-my-Chree has only been operating on one bow thruster since the summer and has experienced difficulties docking as a result.
