
As the summer season approaches, the number of those officially unemployed and looking for work on the Island continues to top the thousand mark.
At the end of April the figure was 1,037, a rise of six on the previous month.
That's an unemployment rate of 2.3%.
There are now 757 men and 280 women on the list.
532 job vacancies were posted to the Job Centre during the month.
By the end of the month, 269 positions were still vacant.
