
Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne says he’ll be holding meetings with supermarkets to encourage them to stock more Manx produce.
His department is holding the talks as it puts together a food security strategy to make sure Island supplies are safe in future.
Mr Gawne says some chains are better than others when it comes to buying from local suppliers.
And although he sympathises with some of their difficulties, he says it’s important they support local agriculture and businesses:
