The Island took a battering from storm force winds this evening (Saturday).
A number of roads around the Island were closed for safety reasons and police are asking motorists to stay in doors unless absolutely necessary.
Trees were down at Laurel Bank, on the Tholt-y-Will Road and by the Fairy Bridge on the Douglas side by Sunny Orchid, as well as in Colby.
Due to the high waves, Gansey was closed for a while, as was Port Jack to Summerhill, while the conditions also led to the closure of Victoria Road in Douglas between its junctions with Castle Hill and Poplar Road.
Mid-afternoon, electric cables were down in the Port Soderick area but they were cleared and the Old Castletown Road re-opened.
