The government's aim of improving the lives of children and young people in the Isle of Man has taken a big step forward.
MATs - or multi-agency teams - are being established in each of the five neighbourhood policing areas, charged with the task of finding out and delivering what youngsters in their communities need.
The teams have representatives from social services, health, education, the police and the voluntary sector and are looking at a range of goals, highlighted in the Chief Minister's Strategy for Children and Young People.
Chief Constable Mike Langdon is confident the new approach will bear fruit:

Homelessness legislation to be brought forward early next year
Peel Commissioners to start Youth Commissioners schemeĀ
Parish Walk entries 'slightly up' this year
Plans to boost dyslexia support 'game changing'
Police hope to extend Operation Needle next year
