Ramsey RNLI rescues vessel off east coast
Ramsey RNLI went to the aid of a yacht in difficulty off the east coast of Douglas this morning (31 May).
The lifeboat was launched just before 12.30am, in a moderate swell, and located the vessel despite it being ‘enveloped in thick mist’.
Due to the poor visibility, and proximity to the Douglas ferry route, a decision was taken to tow the yacht back to safety.
It arrived back to Douglas Harbour at 3am.
The lifeboat remained with the vessel for a short time whilst a small ingress of water was investigated and addressed by its crew.
