
The Department of Education and Children is raising the bar for students hoping to receive funding from the Manx government for higher education.
The revision process takes place every year, but this time it is against a backdrop of severe cutbacks and student riots in the United Kingdom over the charging process being levied by the government there.
Minister for Education and Children Eddie Teare says it's not a cutback as such, as his department is continuing to support those who would get the most out of higher education.
However, students will need to achieve higher grades to secure funding:
