A group of students from QE II High School in Peel are on their way to the Gambia today (Tuesday), after winning the trip in a United Kingdom national competition.
The Giving Nation Social Action Awards reward schools on their charity work, campaigning, social enterprise and community activities.
QE II won the award after organising more than 100 charity and volunteering events and raising more than £27,000.
The students on the trip will work as journalists, reporting global issues affecting people in the west African country.
