Pupils from QEII High School in Peel have been to London to celebrate the school's sustainability credentials, attending a ceremony overlooking the Olympic Park.
Hundreds of students were involved in EDF Energy's vision for a more sustainable future through its national schools programme 'The POD', and QEII was one of only three schools selected to join in the celebrations, from more than 11,500.
Teacher Leslie Sleight says it was quite an accolade for the students who have been working on a variety of green projects for the last three years, and she hopes the school will be soon be able to achieve a green flag status:
