A Ramsey man who suffered from severe depression was found hanged at his home last month.
The body of 45 year-old Michael Kinnin was discovered on January 28.
An inquest in Douglas heard how Mr Kinnin, who had worked for Ramsey Commissioners for many years and was also a retained fireman, used to cycle to Douglas and run up Snaefell.
However, he had a history of depression and an accident just over a year before his death had caused him serious physical injuries and added distress, which he struggled to overcome.
Coroner Michael Moyle extended his sympathy to Mr Kinnin’s wife and daughter and said the family had done all it could to support him.
