Rushen MHK Juan Watterson says politicians have finally found the will to do something about Queen's Pier in Ramsey after almost 20 years of wrangling, only to find there's no cash to refurbish it.
Yesterday, Tynwald debated the recommendations of a report on future options for the Victorian structure, which has lain unused for years and is in urgent need of repair and safety work.
The court rejected Mr Watterson's suggestion it should be demolished, but stopped short of approving the £9 million needed to bring it back into use.
Mr Watterson says spending just under £2 million for vital repairs means more may be done when government finances improve:

Island's first rapid EV charger being installed
Mooir Vannin could be first of many
'Significant investment or redevelopment' needed at Ramsey District Cottage Hospital
Braddan Commissioners open expressions of interest for TT camping at Roundhouse
