Mann praised as a holiday destination
A UK tabloid has sung the Island's praises as a holiday destination.
Under the heading "Action Man - the Isle of Man is quaint, quirky and quiet - perfect for a relaxing holiday", author Joseph Frost describes how a visit here during this summer's heatwave was like visiting one of the Canary Islands - rather than somewhere in the middle of the Irish Sea.
He and his family took trips on the steam railway, visited Castle Rushen - described as "one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the world" - and watched the Viking Longboat Races.
They went on to visit Peel Castle and the Wildlife Park, before finishing with a trip to The Sound which he writes, "brims with wildlife and natural wonders, and is one of the most scenic places in the British Isles".
Mr Frost suggest the Island's quiet charm is no bad thing, "considering the speed we live our family lives at today."
