Andre Risha will be seeking a seat in the constituency of Middle
A surgeon has announced he's standing in this year's House of Keys General Election in the constituency of Middle.
Andre Risha has worked as a senior surgeon on the Island for more than 15 years, and says he'll be campaigning to drive urgent reform within the health service.
His other priorities include housing market reform, public spending and incentivising tourism.
In a statement announcing his candidacy, Mr Risha said: "I see the strengths of our community every day, but I also see the severe pressures people are under—and those pressures extend far beyond the hospital doors.
"If we are to protect our financial security for future generations, action has to be taken now to bring about good governance for the residents of the Isle of Man."
The House of Keys General Election takes place on 24 September.
