More than 1/4 have had their accounts 'compromised'
More than a quarter of people (27%) who took part in a survey on cyber crime say they've had their online accounts 'compromised' by scammers.
It's one of the results of a consultation run by the government's Office of Cybercrime and Information Assurance.
Of the 594 people who responded, the majority shopped and banked online, with 91 per cent receiving fraudulent emails in their inboxes.
Results also show Facebook was the preferred social media platform, with smartphones the most popular device for internet access.
