60-year-old drink driver fell into bonnet of vehicle
A Douglas man who drove his car whilst three times the legal limit has been banned from the road for five years.
Michael Francis Williamson, of Tromode Road, was stopped by police on 26 March whilst heading home from a pub.
When the 60-year-old was asked to vacate his vehicle by police, he fell into the bonnet of his car.
At Douglas Courthouse Williamson's advocate told the court his client 'accepts he was incredibly foolish'.
Sentencing Williamson to 14 weeks in custody – suspended for two years – Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood told him: "It doesn't sound as if you were fit to walk, let alone fit to drive."
He will remain disqualified until he’s taken and passed an extended driving test and completed a rehabilitation course.
