25-year-old made 'an incredibly bad decision'
A Douglas woman who supplied cannabis to make money has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Rafaela Filipa Monterio Ramos, of Farvane Park, was caught after police found voice messages from her on Snapchat after they arrested a male in a separate investigation.
They showed the 25-year-old had purchased cannabis from him on more than one occasion and was selling the drugs on to generate income herself.
During sentencing, at Douglas Courthouse, Ramos’ advocate said his client was 'not thinking clearly at the time' and was 'disappearing down a well of despair'.
Magistrates agreed, saying they thought it boiled down to her making 'an incredibly bad decision', adding: "We do think this was out of character for you."
Ramos was sentenced to 26 weeks in custody suspended for 12 months; and was also ordered to pay £125 in prosecution costs.
