A 19 year old man has been given a fourteen day prison sentence by the High Bailiff.
Marc Taggart of Ballachrink Drive, Onchan, admitted theft of goods worth £99 from Pickwicks in Strand Street, and resisting a police officer.
Inspector Richard Power said police attended Strand Street, Douglas, following a report of the theft at 8.30 am on June 11th.
Taggart was found and the goods were found hidden in his clothing.
When police tried to arrest him, he threatened to headbutt the officer and was subsequently handcuffed.
His advocate said Taggart had been drinking the night before and was possibly still under the influence of alcohol.
