A bowel cancer survivor is urging Island residents offered a screening test to take it - as it could save their lives.
Since it was launched in 2012 the Department of Health's bowel cancer screening programme has identified 15 cases.
The uptake rate for tests in the Isle of Man is around 59% which compares well to the UK rate of 50%.
The programme has recently been extended so that it is now offered to everyone on the Island aged between 60 and 75.
One of those whose cancer signs were detected as a result of a test was Jimmy Kneen from Peel.
His was caught early enough that it was treatable through keyhole surgery alone:
