Justice and Home Affairs Minister gives assurance that border security has been strengthened
The justice and home affairs minister says a targeted and increasingly intelligence led approach to security will help keep the Island safe when the number of sailings between here and Ireland increase.
Jane Poole-Wilson was asked about border security at the Irish and Northern Irish ports in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
She also faced questions about whether asylum seekers could look to use the routes to reach the Island.
Minister Poole-Wilson gave the assurance that security arrangements at ports have been strengthened in recent years:
Main route through Foxdale closed due to RTC
Michelle Mone-linked PPE firm liquidated and unlikely to repay £148m
Yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping
Proposed new laws would support homeless people on the Isle of Man
